Independence Day

"Gantungkan cita-cita mu setinggi langit! Bermimpilah setinggi langit. Jika engkau jatuh, engkau akan jatuh di antara bintang-bintang."

"Set your goals sky-high! Dream as high as the sky. If you fall, you will fall among the stars."

Soekarno

Happy Independence day Indonesia, happy 72!

Black Romper

The weather is not that nice these days, we have plenty of cloudy days and some rainy days in the middle of July-August. Can you imagine? Anyways, it seems to affect the photo shot too...  can't tell what color I am now...

Huizen NL (unpublished)

I didn't realize that people are actually counting how many countries they've visited and how many cities they've visited in their lifetime. And some of the travel blogger even kind of pinning and writing them down on their main page/ instagram (I kind of write it down too). So here I am going through my blog page and surprised that I didn't list them. Plus I visited many other countries too, but didn't even post it here on the blog. You probably noticed the "unpublished" series by now, and yes, they are my trips that I haven't posted yet.

So here goes another one, where I stayed a good 4 days at my cousins home, Huizen NL.

Randomly

I am back with the random shots post again, I know, its a series and I am a seriously serial offender! There are moments in life when you goes "damn, I wish I have a camera with me", but in my case "damn, I am glad I have my camera with me!" So here you are enjoying the shots that didn't make it to the posts... some did the same with their post by calling it "Photo Diary" some calling it "Week in photo diary" but I always called it "Randomly" from the beginning because its a showcase of random shots of anything! Enjoy the picture after the jump!

Linen Capri (ata bag)

So tell me guys, what do you prepare for your next trip / holiday? These are a must list of mine:
1) grooming. Yes, all hairs off! That is: armpit, legs, and bikini
I know, sometimes you question and tell yourself "I don't need bikini wax if the destination is mountain and there is no 'naughty' activity?" Trust me girls, you need one! 😉 So get one and always be ready, plus it is hygienic!

2) pack a bikini. Yes, you ask the same question again. There are some warm nights and you might want to flaunt your assets without being too obvious by using that sheer white blouse. Put on a nice one 👙 and claim that you were expecting a dip in the warm Jacuzzi; even though there is none in the premises.

3) pack one pair of heels. medium high, simple model. I know... it's that questions again! The answer is -that photo shot for instagram must hit the likes and loves- freezing cold for less then a minute is worth it. LOL, I don't do this crap. But yeah, you'll better get prepared and might need it for something.

This is just a fun suggestions, don't be so serious! I only meant the #1 and #2 tips. Have a great day you all...

When the lights fade

Standing on a ledge, at the beginning of a long walk, towards an invisible path, where the day wound up and the night is brushed aside… at the end was a fog, an eerie figure of evanescent residues that has faded away.

[I feel obligated to write something on every post... ;) ]

Tonle Sap [unpublished]

A friend of mine has inspired me to write down and post about my trip to Cambodia; and one of the visit was to Tonle Sap lake.

Tonlé Sap, tonle literally means large river and sap means fresh, not salty; it is commonly translated to "Great Lake".
Tonlé Sap Lake and an attached river stretched 120 km long Tonlé Sap River, that connects the lake to the Mekong River. It is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, that contains an exceptional large variety of interconnected eco-regions with a high degree of biodiversity is a biodiversity hotspot and was designated as a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1997.

Printed short dress

Tell me something about the feeling of never ever wants to paint your nightmare in your reality, how do you feel?

When you surpassed the nightmares and you arrived in your awakened state of mind of simple thoughts, would you draw another one in your dreams and pray and pray it won’t turn into reality but then you’re awake and it is your reality?

Jumpsuit (verso 3)

Tip toeing on a thin layer of ice

With all the time wasted, I am still a human being trying to achieve perfect understanding of another human being.

I have invested an enormous amount of time and energy in serious efforts to know another person, but in the end, I never come to know that person’s essence.

At least I thought I knew, but no, I do not really know anything important about this human being.

And now I am tip toeing on a thin layer of ice, hoping not to break it.

Obi Wan Kenobi [Personal thoughts]

Obi is a sash that normally worn with Kimono in Japan, but this one is mine that I worn with a dress. On the personal thought side of the story, this year I have determined to declutter my life, which means:
  • I am cleaning it from unnecessary relationship that is not beneficial for both party
  • More focused on the the subject of minimizing my house--in terms of keeping what is necessary and it could mean that I am back to basic but happy life.
  • Focused more on work and task in hand
All of the 3 above seems so simple, but trust me its a handful most of the time!
Decluttering in work area and home are great ways to start reducing the clutter and stress in my life! I have learned that for a long time, but never put it in practice!

Tokyo JAPAN (not a must list, but seriously...)

If you’ve been to Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, you would have encountered the gigantic spider in Roku Roku Plaza. The ten metre bronze sculpture called Maman is the work of French artist Louise Bourgeois who passed away in May 2010 at the age 98. She was born in Paris and later moved to New York. Known for controversy in some of her works which have been inspired by her childhood experiences. Her series of spider sculptures have featured around the world. If you see closely in the body of this statue, it carries eggs. :)

You can spot this in Asakusa area, on top of Tokyo's Asahi Beer building is the famous kin no unchi, Japanese for “Golden Turd” (Locals also call it the unchi biru or the "poop building") The 300-ton stainless steel sculpture designed by French architect Philippe Stark was meant to look like foam rising from a beer mug... :D

Asakusa Ekimise is a building linked to Tobu SKYTREE. EKIMISE revives the Neo-Renaissance architecture of the original structure completed in the early Showa period (Des 1926 – Jan 1989). The symbolic grand clock has made a comeback, too. EKIMISE comprises a total of 177 stores, including Matsuya Asakusa, which enjoys a presence there since the original building first opened, and 52 new shops. The biggest attraction is East-Tokyo Market Wanoichi, on the seventh floor. It features a collection of varieties items representing quality design and honoring the tradition of Japanese craftsmanship. Be sure to check out the rooftop terrace, offering good views of the nearby Tokyo Skytree.

Ok, wait. This is a compulsory photo opt, behind me is a major Japanese character shop, at Ekimise ground floor. :D

###
TOKYO SKYTREE is designed in an original color "SKYTREE White", representing harmony with the surrounding scenery, its name and the design concept: "The creation of city scenery transcending time: A fusion of traditional Japanese beauty and neo-futuristic design". It is an original color based on "aijiro", the lightest shade of Japanese traditional indigo blue. The color of SKYTREE also replicates the technique of indigo dyers, with a hint of blue added to the white color, giving a delicate pale blue glow, like that of white celadon ware.
Colors created by indigo dyers represent the legacy of Japanese traditional craftsmanship as conserved in the downtown area housing the tower. Encounter the tower and this artisan culture will become the starting point for the creation of a new culture. Dressed in "SKYTREE white", the new tower will stand tall against the blue sky in downtown Tokyo and transcend time with eternal brightness. (source here)
